Football Dating Sites and Apps Compared

Football Dating UK set against Footymatch, Football Dating, Tinder, Bumble, Hinge and Match: who each suits, how prices are shown and what each does well.

Why we wrote these pages

Single, British and mad about football? You have more routes to a date than you might think. There are sites built entirely around the game, an app that pairs supporters for friendship as well as romance, and the household-name apps where you can tag your club in one way or another. Choosing between them is less about crowning a winner and more about matching a service to the way you live.

This hub gathers our side-by-side pages in one spot. We wrote all of them, so treat us as an interested party. Our rules for keeping them straight: rival details come only from the rival's own site, help centre or app listing; every page states the date we looked; we never estimate anyone's user numbers; we do not link out to competitors; and we say plainly when somebody else might be the better pick for you.

The case for a football-led site

Starting from the game makes sense when the game organises your weeks. Season ticket, regular away trips, a Sunday league side or simply a firm rule about Saturday afternoons: on a football-led site, none of that needs a disclaimer. The other person already assumes the fixture list exists.

It also gives first messages something solid to grip. Last weekend's result, the coldest away end you ever stood in, the poster that was on your bedroom wall at twelve. Those are easy openers, and the way someone tells the story shows you their humour and their temper far better than a list of hobbies would.

The case for a mainstream app

A household-name app may serve you better if football is one interest of many, if you prefer to do your own filtering, or if you want a single app for dating and friendship. Lots of supporters keep one mainstream app open alongside a football site, and that is a reasonable plan. Just describe your football habits the same way on both.

The two football-branded rivals

UK fans searching for football dating tend to come across two other football-themed names.

Footymatch is a British web app. Its pages pitch it at fans after romance, friends or someone to stand next to on matchday. Fans of your own team appear first, lets you opt in to rival fans and offers a fixture check-in for finding someone at the same game. If friendship and company at matches are as important to you as romance, have a look.

Football Dating (footballdating.com) is a football-branded dating club. Registration offers a country list covering the globe, and the site's own small print says profiles automatically appear on related football dating sites. It lists photos, galleries, chat and video chat. If wider visibility suits you, it is another route.

Each has its own full page, linked above.

How we checked, and when

Every rival fact across these pages was read on 16 October 2026 on the service's own website, help centre or app pages. Services change features and prices without much fanfare, so look again at the current terms before you pay anyone. Where our page and the service's own page disagree, trust theirs and tell us.

Five questions for any dating service

Wherever you end up, ask these before handing over card details:

  1. Is there a price list before signup? If not, read carefully at checkout.
  2. Does the plan roll over, and how do I stop it? The terms should say so clearly.
  3. Could my profile appear on other sites? Some groups share profiles across several brands.
  4. How do I block or report someone? It should take seconds to find.
  5. Does it fit my actual life? An app that works brilliantly for a friend may be useless for someone who is on a supporters' coach every other Saturday.

Our own prices

For reference, Football Dating UK costs £14.99 for a week of VIP or £15.99 for a week of VIP Plus. A year is £119.88 (VIP) or £208.05 (VIP Plus), and the annual plans end without renewing. Every option, including one, three and six months, is on our pricing page.

Where the other sections help

The comparisons cover choosing a service. What happens after that is covered elsewhere on the site. Our relationship guides deal with first dates at matches, mixed couples and rival fans. The city pages for Manchester, London and Liverpool cover grounds, transport and local date ideas. And the safety page explains how to spot ticket scams and what to do if someone makes you uncomfortable.

A note on fairness

We have tried to describe each service the way its own pages describe itself. We have not tested every feature of every rival, and we do not claim to know how well each one works for any particular person. If you have used one of these services and something on our page looks out of date, the service's own help pages are the place to confirm it.

Football-adjacent services we left out

A few sports-themed apps and sites exist that are not specifically about football, and some fan forums run their own lonely-hearts threads. We have kept these pages to the services UK football supporters are most likely to weigh up against each other, rather than listing everything with a ball in its logo. If a new football-specific option appears, we will look at it in the same way: its own pages, a stated check date and an honest note on who it suits.

How to use the pages together

If you are starting from scratch, read the UK overview first, then open the two or three comparisons that match the apps you already have on your phone. Each one ends with a short "which should you choose" section, so you can jump straight to the verdict if you prefer. And if you decide a mainstream app suits you better, the profile advice on each page still applies.

Safety across every service

Whichever service you choose, the same rules apply: message first, meet in public, tell a friend and never send money. Our safety page has the details.

Frequently asked questions

Which comparison should I read first?

Start with our UK round-up page, which puts every option on one page. Then open the full comparison for any service you are seriously considering.

Is a football site a better bet than Tinder?

For someone whose weekends follow the fixtures, a site where everyone begins from the game makes the first chat easier. Tinder is a general app where you tag football through Interests and your bio. Our Tinder page compares them in detail.

Do these comparisons include prices?

Yes, wherever a service publishes them. Where prices only appear inside an app or after registration, we say that instead.

When were the facts checked?

Each was read on 16 October 2026 at the source: the rival's own site or help centre.
